Kissimmee, Florida May 12, 2011 The Gathering Foundation supports Osceola County School appreciation program.

The Gathering Foundation participated in the Osceola County School Appreciation Business Luncheon held at Signature Aviation at Kissimmee Gateway Airport. The special event on May 11, 2011 was held to thank the local businesses that contribute money as well as their time to help the schools and students in Osceola County. Dozens of businesses were represented at the event that had been nominated by the schools for their participation in the OASIS program through out the school year.
The OASIS program stands for Osceola Adults Serving and Inspiring Students and coordinates over 10000 volunteers who want to help in the schools. The OASIS program also matches businesses with schools that need help with supplies, activities and programs that the school district cannot afford or support.
This was the first year that the Gathering Foundation participated in the OASIS program. The Gathering Foundation donated Gathering of Mustangs and Legends collector’s edition program to the 250 guests at the luncheon. Judy Alexander, Partners in Education Specialist for the OASIS Department and coordinator of the event was pleased not only to have the Gathering Foundation participate but was “Thrilled to have such a wonderful book full of rich history and fantastic pictures to share with everyone.”
The Gathering Foundation also had Stallion 51 Corporation’s P-51 Mustang “Crazy Horse” on static display for the guests to enjoy. Pictured in front of the P-51 is Horace Mann, Inc. Leon Sturk’s company and employees were nominated by was 9 schools to be recognized for their help.
The Gathering Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed to support the collection, exchange and archive of information as it pertains to vintage fighter aircraft and the brave men and women who flew or serviced these aircraft in war times.  Sharing that information with the community through the schools keeps the history exciting and accessible.
